We love spas. Just the sound of it. Spa! The thrill run through our spine.
As much as, it is a beautiful area where we evoke a certain feeling of relaxation, you don't have to empty the purse or plan a schedule to be there. In fact, what makes the business spas feel relaxing is not the wetted surfaces or because the baths are private-they are more used than the one in your house, neither can it be attributed to the hot tubs solely. It’s the colors, textures, lighting, and lack of clutter that make spas feel like spas. Also, the smell and sound give spas their distinctive atmosphere.
Really! We spend more time in our own bathrooms than we do at spas. It is worth pampering it, so that we get the pampering we want. You don't have to get a tile contractor or buy a new one, except if certain features are degenerated. Use the following tips to turn your bathroom, whether rented or owned, into a space that you’ll want to lounge and luxuriate in. You’re worth it! Make your bathroom more of a luxury spa rather than a urinal house. You might never know the worth of your potential luxurious bathroom, if you don't.
Giving Yourself a Spa Treatment in your Bathroom
- First, deep clean. Next, clear up all the cluttered space in your bathroom. You don't have to display your toothbrush on the sink, nor have toilet cleaners peeping at every edge. When there is limited storage space, and each family member has his own toiletries, the bathroom get pretty cluttered. You badly want this, make new space for them. Such as, finding some inexpensive matching and colourful glass or china cups or jars to store cotton swabs and soaps neatly. Tuck away the rest of the packages in closets or cabinets. Make a “no plastic bottles on the counter” rule.
- Toiletries are significant part of a spa room. This must be carefully selected and displayed. See Studionette for samples. Make toiletries part of your decor. Ensure you discard old and expired toiletries.
- Upgrade the linens and shower curtain. A sparkling white washed linen shower curtain could your bathroom a feeling of serenity. The color and texture of the shower curtain do matter. The right color and texture can lighten, brighten, and harmonize the space. The wrong color or pattern can make the room look dowdy and dark. Fluffy matching towels, and a high-quality shower curtain made of natural fibers, can transform even an ugly pink tile bathroom into a spa-like retreat. Discard towels or linen that are looking pretty bad habit or shredded. Not only will new, fluffy towels feel super luxurious, they’ll also look super classy stored on your towel rack.
- Swap your shower head, if you can. Getting a swanky shower head with a bunch of different massage settings will take your bathroom to the next level.
- Paint your bathroom in a neutral or pale color palate, if you can. Let you toiletries, carpet, linen, shower curtain speak the volume on solid colours. Bright colors are stimulating; neutral colors are more relaxing. Colours like white, grey, pale (beige, brown, greens, pink and blues) are all neutral. For inspiration, check out Studionette for matching ideas.
- Lighting is key. It determines the mood of your bathroom, whether it is a relaxing and soothing atmosphere or get-out-here one. Try getting a blind, closing the blinds to block out harsh natural light. Buy some tea-lights or small scented candles for decoration and to set mood especially in the evening night hours. A comfortable, calming glow will work wonders to help you unwind and de-stress. Load up candles, when you’re taking a bubble bath. Light all your candles, turn out the lights and relax!
- Get music to your ears. A spa wouldn't be complete without some relaxing, chilled-out music, so don't forget it for your bathroom spa. Ditch the irritating, interrupting music and create a playlist with some soothing tones.
- Fluffy rug: Buy a fluffy rug to a simple blow up neck pillow for your bath, it's the little touches to your homemade spa that will really make the difference. Ensure the room is kept warm and not draughty soak and keep extra bath maths handy for when you get out of the bath.
- Get the Essential Oils and Bath foams. They are a must for a perfect relaxing bath experience. Lavender oil is great to get you in a sleepy mood, rose oil is known for its relaxing fragrance while geranium and vanilla are comforting and relatively inexpensive.
- Have a face mask kit. When it comes to your eyes, a simple trick to de-puff and soothe is cucumber slices placed on your eyelids. If you don't have cucumber to hand don't worry, cotton wool pads soaked in ice cold water works just as well. Don't forget items like body scrubs to improve circulation and get rid of dead skin, especially the ones with salt or sugar in it; body brush to reduce the signs of cellulite for your body.
- Extra large fluffy towels are necessary for creating that pampered spa feeling. Get scented towels at home by adding 3-6 drops of your favourite essential oil to a handkerchief and put it in the dryer with your towels. Spa robes are also a great idea for a real spa experience, invest in a cosy one for your bathroom!
- After give your skin a full treatment and finish up loose manicure and pedicure. Ensure you moisturise after your bath. Cocoa butter is great as a really intensive moisturiser because it softens, smoothes and relieves dry skin.
- Don't end it there. When you leave the bathroom, continue your me-time with a healthy after-bath treat. A mug of green tea or a fruit smoothie is a great way to detox and leave you feeling revitalised and refreshed.
